SUBJECT: Board Meeting Minutes, 15 July 2021

Meeting called to order at 1909 hrs.

1. Meeting Called to order - James Hicks, Board President

Present: James Hicks, PresidentLissa Montgomery-Jackson, Treasurer and Dianna Davis-Small, Member-at-large. New Board Members: Miniabyi Ford and Ninnette Fred Toney
Absent: Robert Tennis (Secretary)and Lawrence Thrash (Vice President)

2. Minutes Fr General Community Wide Mtg held June 24 Dianna Davis-Small

Dianna sent the meeting minutes out shortly before the board meeting. There was not sufficient time for board members to review them, therefore approval of the meeting minutes was postponed until the next meeting.

3. Introduction of New Board Members - James Hicks, Board President

4. FY 2021-2022 Budget Review and Approval - Lissa Montgomery-Jackson, Treasurer

Total revenue received for FY 20/21was $1,282.40.
Proposed budget for FY 21/22 membership dues is $1400.
$1,400 represents FWECA maintaining 70-75 members we had from last year.
As part of the budget, expenses are projected whether we spend money on them or not.
Total expenses for FY 20/21 were $1,457.23; $1,465 is proposed for FY 21/22
Net budget balance for FY 20/21 was -$174.83 was based on the fact that we brought in less money that was spent.
Projected budget end of year balance for FY 21/22 is $3,424.34, which includes a projected -$65.00 (net budget balance).

5. Election of FY 2021/2022 Board Officers

Below are the result of board members volunteering and acceptance for positions. All accepted positions were affirmed by vote of the Board.
Officers are President, Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer

1. President – Dianna Davis-Small

2. Vice President – Lawrence Thrash (notified James Hicks that he

wanted to retain his position)

3. Secretary – James Hicks

4. Treasurer – Lissa Montgomery-Jackson

5. Members –at- large: Miniabiyi Ford, Robert Tennis, and Ninnette Toney

6. Membership Drive & Update

We will follow the same cycle as 2020 and run the membership drive from September 1 – October 31, 2021.
Need to buy more signs for posting on all corners of the community.

o L’Enfant & Ft. Washington, L’Enfant & Washington Drive, Walburton

and Ft. Washington Road, and at Captain Cove’s Park. We currently have

three signs.

We will put together the package, however, will not circulate the membership application in order to cut down on cost and mailing. We will do an email, and post on the website that membership is due.
We will send out a newsletter and an email to announce the membership drive from September 1 to October 31.

7. Discuss Future Projects, activities and events for FY 2021/2022

Board members discussed the need to decide on movie night, block parties, and National night out.
Considerations were given to having one big block party but due to Covid restrictions it couldn’t work.

o James will talk to Dave Freeman about having the block party.

We still need to find a location for movie night. Suggestions were Ft. Washington Park and the Ft. Washington pool.

o Ft. Washington Park bathrooms are not open yet due to staffing shortages.

o Will see if the Ft. Washington pool can be used again.
