Dorene Albury agreed to produce a flyer announcing the FWECA General Meeting by November 30, 2017. The Meeting is scheduled for January 24 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the police station on Fort Washington Road.
Dorene also reported that she is making good progress on updating the neighborhood map for inclusion in the new Membership Directory, to be published early in 2018. She plans to have the map completed by November 30.
Dorene has also begun to collect ideas for the Winter Newsletter, which she would like to get out in February, shortly after the General Meeting. Things to be included in the newsletter will be: a report on the General Meeting, the Board Roster, a Committee list reporting their functions and chairs (and this time including the Welcoming Committee!), a listing of 2017 CoveScapes of Merit, any news from the Government and Public Utilities Liaison Committee about derelict properties or public works projects that affect the neighborhood, and a schedule of upcoming events.
The Committee would still like to have the 2017-18 Membership Directory printed in time for distribution at the January 24 General Meeting. Patti Cass, its editor, was not present, so we couldn’t confirm that the date was doable.
James Hicks agreed to manipulate the excel spreadsheet to be provided by Clem Gaynor the first week of December to get its contents ready for publication in January.
The Committee members recalled that there was once a sign that announced our meetings that was placed at the entrance to the neighborhood, but no one knew who has the sign. The need for a website to better communicate information quickly to the neighborhood was discussed and Committee is asking the Board to make recruiting a webmaster a part of the January 24 General Meeting. We also thought it would be great if we could recruit a Membership Committee.
